My expertise is grounded in formal academic training as well as more than 30 years of practical industry experience. I hold two university degrees in chemical engineering—one earned in Germany and the other in the United States.
My career in the recycling industry began in 1995 in Nebraska, where I founded and operated a scrap tire recycling plant using cryogenic grinding technology. The plant was based on research conducted for my master’s thesis and gave me first-hand experience in technology development as well as in building and operating a recycling business under commercial conditions.
Over the course of my career, I have also developed continuous processes for rubber devulcanization and the chemical recycling of plastic waste.
Today, I advise investors, entrepreneurs, industrial companies and lending institutions on recycling technologies and projects. My combination of engineering expertise, operational experience and commercial understanding enables me to identify promising opportunities as well as technical and economic risks in the evolving tire and plastics recycling industries.
